Well, today is a special day. It's the summer solstice, also known as Midsummer's Day. It is also my wedding anniversary. The man and I have been married 10 years today (gasp, shock). It comes as a surprise to me, that 10 years have already past. It seems almost like it was yesterday that we were exchanging vows in front of the minister. Looking back, I'm kind of surprised how much has changed. Including ourselves. Some changes have been pleasant, like the birth of our son, and some not, like the death of my mother to lung cancer, and my growing health problems. People have asked me how we manage to still get along after 10 years. I thought it a strange question, until I remember that most marriages in the USA fail within the first 5 years, most of which fail in the first 2 years. I tell people that you have to learn to ignore certain things about each other--to not nickpick the little things, to not argue over who did this and who did that, and who works harder than the other. Because marriage is suppose to be a compromise. And both people need to compromise, and that it takes time to learn how to do that. I won't say that it's easy, because it's not always easy. But anything worth having is worth working for (or on depending on the situation).

Finally heard from the doctor's office. Of course, I had to call them. But I managed to get an appointment for Friday morning at 8:30 am. So I'll learn more tomorrow about treatment options, pain management, etc. It figures, though, that most of the pain is gone. Hopefully, that won't change the results of my visit.

I've been working diligently on the tablecloth. I'm on the scallops that finish up the edging. Only about a third of the way through with the scallops, though. Then I'm going to block the tablecloth out on my bed, starting early in the morning, and hoping it will be dry by bedtime. I will take pictures of it at that time. And post them, of course.

I'm still working on the shawl for my etsy shop. But I knew that was going to take a little longer, since it's my travel project. The fact that it only weighs ounces makes it get for traveling. It even fits in my purse (added bonus!)

I'm also working on my dishcloth pattern for the Dish Rag Tag. The first idea I had wasn't the look I was going for. It was also way too big, being 11" instead of 9". But I think I have it figured out. I'll post that picture as well, when I get it done.

Yes, life is rough for all of us, in one way or another. I won't dwell on mine, but am comforted in "knowing" WHERE I am going!
I think THAT's what we call Destiny!

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ "CODES" RIGHT OUT OF YOUR OWN BIBLE, that "CONTROL" your Destiny?
